Attractive bureau de dame, Bonheur de jour or ladies writing desk (call it what you will) in walnut from around 1890 - 1900. With its multiplicity of cupboards and drawers it offers much storage space for paperwork, pens, rulers etc or the paraphernalia of our computer age, including the space to use a laptop. There are nine drawers and three cupboards - the upper two having six cubby holes apiece. Please note - when all but two of the photos were taken it was awaiting a new leather skiver in maroon. Will it fit your space however?...It is just under 38 inches wide and 24 inches deep with an overall height of 47 inches and a working top height of about 29 inches. The upper section (which can be removed if necessary) is some 10 inches deep and has a shapely little gallery on three sides. It retains its original brass castors and, as you can see, its full compliment of handles also.
